I hadn’t seen her in almost 45 years, but I remember her – and Norman – vividly. I was a member of the Center City Reform Democrats group from its inception.I was just talking this past evening about how we took over our ward from the Rizzo machine and then elected Norman to the Pennsylvania legislature. This was my first real introduction to activist progressive politics and an unforgettable and life-changing experience for me. It also was – and is – an important example of what can be done when people really are committed to their democratic principles and work hard to achieve them.
